The gang's all here!

With these last four figures my Dux starting armies are complete. It's the last three Uruk Warriors and the Champion of Gondor.

The Uruks are metal Uruk Hai Scouts, very quickly painted, but they still look OK on the table, especially when they are among a bunch of their friends.

The Champion of Gondor is the Gripping Beast figure that I got free with the SAGA rules. I did my best, but a figure of this quality really reveals the limits of my skill when compared to some of the examples on the SAGA forum. Still, I'm happy with it and it will look nice on the table next to Boromir.

I also have two volunteers lined up ready to try out the Dux campaign rules after Christmas. Their tales will be told on my Dux Gondorum blog.

  1. Excellent and congrats. It is always a good feeling to finish an army out. Dux is the only ruleset when I have managed to completely paint up the figures needed to play. I have always been short something before.

    1. It was mostly because I had loads of stuff already painted for the LOTR game, but it does indeed feel good to have two full starting forces painted and ready. Now for the reinforcements and the Mercs!

  2. Nice work Oh Mighty Penguin. One can never have enough uruks. They look appropriately bloodthirsty and your GP figure looks the business. I am looking forward to your AARs as I am considering doing the same thing with my LOTR kit.

  3. Great looking gang!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Dux Gondorum games.

  4. Mike and Jonas, I am planning on starting the Dux campaign as soon as this mid-winter party malarkey is over and done with. There will be reports, I promise.
