Dust Tactics Panzeraufklärungslaufer I-C

Or Hans to his friends.
Hans is not finished (he has no weapons, for one thing), this is just a teaser pic to get Laffe to take the plunge into Dust.

Revell LRDG Jeep

First British (Commonwealth actually, lots of folks from distant shores in the LRDG) vehicle for our LRDG project.

The vehicle is from the old Matchbox kit re-released by Revell and it reminded me that I don't really enjoy building plastic kits, at least not in Braille Scale. I am simply too old and ham-fisted for that kind of work. In future, I'll get some nice resin versions with very few parts.

Shelfville-the humble beginning

My plan for the year is to create a American Civil War terrain board in 6mm that will fit on a shelf in a book case and then play solo games of Terrible Sharp Sword from TooFatLardies on it. So far, I have four Union and one Confederate plus a barn for them to fight over. All bought from Baccus6mm although I believe the barn is actually produced by Time Cast for Baccus.

Cannon fodder?

My latest project, an Italian 90/53 AA gun. It was built for the Guild Group Build that The Padre lured me into and will be used for the Lardy Game Project of 2012, LRDG. These gunners will be in a world of hurt once those mad bearded fellows arrive from the deep desert.

Dust Tactics Sturmpioniere

Finally some finished figures!
Two Sturmpioniere from Dust Tactics. They have been on my painting desk for months and after I accidentally bought a mixed lot of about 100 LOTR figures from the second hand shop on Saturday, it was time to clear the desk a bit.

WIP for The Guilds group build

Not a completed work this time, but a Work In Progress. My favourite clergyman Mike tempted me (hmm, that sounds so wrong) into taking part in a Group Build themed around Anti Aircraft weapons.

Here are some pics:

As has been commented on The Guild, I clearly went overboard with the weathering and rust. Working parts are rusted in a way they would not be on a gun in use. So, do I repaint the gun to match the crew I'm painting right now or do I find a couple of dead crew members and place them around the base. Ah, the agony of choices.

Operation Cerberus- what's in the box?

First purchase for the year is the Operation Cerberus box for Dust Tactics from Fantasy Flight Games. For the benefit of several viewers (Hi, Laffe), I've taken some pics. Nothing newly painted this time, but some cool stuff straight out of the box.

First floor built, with the two character figures on top and the rest of the bits in front:

A Walker and some troops added to illustrate the size.

Second floor added, more troops in windows.

Third and final floor added, with troops in windows and on the roof. There are two doors included, Only one is used in the base model so I put the second one on ther side for illustration purposes.

From above and behind, showing the cardboard strips that function as inner floors, allowing you to place troops in windows on various floors and still reach into the model to move them around.

All in all a very nice kit, I'll be getting a second box and some GW ruins and that will be me sorted for a bit of FIBUA.
