I participated in two different Santa event in 2014. Ian ran his usual Secret Santa for unpainted minis and this year Chris took over the Santa Clause for painted minis.
Here is what I got in the Santa Clause. A 2lb AT gun and a Vickers MG from Zvezda plus a dwarf that I don't know the source for, but my Russian Santa informs me that it is from Russia. Just look at the quality of this painting! I am very sorry that my camera and light cannot do it justice. The guns are 20mm, the dwarf is 28mm.
For the Secret Santa I got these lovely Frenchmen from Red Star. The guys wearing caps and hats come separate heads and I got two different sets of heads. I mixed Bigeard caps and bush hats leaving me with a few extra Bigeard caps for some later head swaps.
Thank you ever so kindly to both my Santas and to Ian and Chris for running the event.
You've certainly done well this year - what tremendous gifts.
SvaraRaderaYep, my lucky streak continues. I consider myself a decent painter, but so far both my Santas have been far superior to my efforts.
RaderaVery nice secret Santa presents indeed.
SvaraRaderaThey are indeed. I also got some more bonus stuff in the packet from Russia, more on that later.
RaderaGreat presents and it's really Cath that does the running f the Secret Santa allowing me to play
SvaraRaderaIan
That is very nice of Cath indeed! Thank you, Cath.
RaderaNice presents, love the AT gun...
SvaraRaderaYep, it is great, and as far as I know, noone else makes one in 20mm. Only one problem:if I get another one, how will I ever be able to match the painting on this one?
RaderaLooking good Thomas. Zvezda has a lot of nice models in the scale of 1:72.I guess you can qoute Winston Churchill about your english soldier: "a gift/champagne taste best when it is free":)
SvaraRaderaSome great looking figures, I like the French figures.
SvaraRaderaYep, the entire Red Star range is excellent. They will be my priority this year, apart from our show games in April and November.
